Parapro

Do you employ a small army of paraprofessionals? If so, our Parapro Training Program has you flanked!

Can you imagine a world wherein schools place the least experienced, least trained employees to work with the most vulnerable and some cases most difficult students? (Oh wait! That’s not our imagination! That’s the real world!) Stop the madness and use this training to appropriately onboard your paraprofessional workforce.

At the end of the course (7 modules in total), attendees will:

  • Identify the core needs of students by focusing on survival tools that foster a sense of belonging and success.
  • Implement effective reinforcement strategies using specialized praise techniques and tracking tools to encourage positive behavior.
  • Master error correction techniques by utilizing the “M.O.P.P. the Mistake” method to handle student errors constructively.
  • Promote student independence through “Fade the Aid” strategies, ensuring support is provided with the ultimate goal of student self-sufficiency.
  • Apply “Optimistic Teaming” principles and survival tools like the “Survival Sandwich” and “S.O.S.” to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Execute behavioral safety protocols, including the “Nuclear Meltdown Protocol,” to manage high-intensity classroom situations safely.
  • Prepare for professional excellence by utilizing the “Good Soldier Checklist” and modern communication strategies to integrate effectively with the school team.

Module 1: What Do Kids Want?

In this module, we take the time to orient paraprofessionals to the big picture. We’re not going to micromanage their time nor are we going to tell their supervisors how to do their jobs. We are going to simply share the explicit steps involved in helping kids feel a sense of belonging and how to help kids find success in the school setting.

Module 2: Nobody Died from Getting Too Much Praise

As noted above, we’re focusing on the basics. The bare basics of how to deliver praise is an essential component to any paraprofessionals assignment. We break praise down into two parts: “Just Because Praise” and “Strategic Praise.”

This and much more awaits you.
