CHILLAX
3 Modules in Total

So many responses to childhood behavior problems, (e.g., off-task, disruptive, aggressive, unmotivated) fail to plan for the long-haul. The Chillax Program is tailor made to not only help with immediate concerns, but provide support and instruction for the days and weeks that follow. Let Chillax and his universe of heroes and villains help teach kids (grades K-6) coping and social skills that last.

Training Intro

Here’s the thing: School teams and parents need support and they need it now. We really don’t have much time at all when a child decides to punch someone in the face, pee on the playground, or vandalize the bathroom. Teams and parents need tools for the immediate aftermath of the problem and ongoing instruction to prevent the behavior from happening again. Teams and parents need a hero! Say hello to Chillax…

Module 1: Teaching Replacement Behaviors Right Now

In the universe of childhood behavior problems, there are two competing behaviors. There are the bad behaviors and there are the good behaviors. You know, bad guys and good guys. Heroes and villains. In this module we learn how to build hero behaviors and provide consequences for villain behaviors.

Module 2: Coping Skills and Coping Comics

Now that we’ve got visual representations for behaviors we want to see increase (heroes) and behaviors we want to see decrease (villains), lets see how these dynamics play out in a comic book universe! A comic book universe where mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills are the greatest superpowers in the galaxy!

Ben Springer

Instructor

It was never a question of “if” but “when” Ben Springer would combine his love of comic books and student wellness. The result? Chillax.

Ben Belnap

Instructor

In true “Dynamic Duo” fashion, Ben Belnap brings his background in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as his superpower to this program. The result? Comic books with coping skills.

ASPEN has been the game-changer we have been looking for in our district. We are building a culture of safety and optimism with ASPEN at the root of it all.

Deb Fenton, Oakcrest Elementary School

Too often behavior plans fail to include plans for when things cool down. Our students need ongoing instruction in coping skills and Chillax is the only program that delivers.

Janet Hansen, The Ranches Academy

Our Tier 1 classroom management has never looked so good. Everything you hear is true: Happy teachers = Happy Class. Everyone needs this training.
