Certification Details
Our certification delivers evidence-based de-escalation training designed by educators for educators. By combining practical early-intervention strategies with positive psychology and tiered support systems, we help school professionals to:
Apply nonviolent intervention strategies in real-time
Support a safer, more positive learning environment
De-escalate high-stress student situations
Respond safely and effectively to disruptive behavior
Understand legal and ethical considerations in intervention
Become Certified
Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be Certified Trainers, acknowledging their commitment to fostering a safer and more supportive school environment. They will be able to train additional faculty and staff to:
- Recognize and understand what causes aggressive student behavior.
- Use positive psychology methods and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) principles to get to the root causes of aggressive student behavior.
- Replace outdated, inefficient practices and replace them with practices that work in numerous situations.
- Identify the ways MTSS is currently working, and build upon it with Totem student behavior training.
